RISC OS 5
This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.
RISC OS 5 is an version of the RISC OS operating system which was first released in 2002. It was initially developed for the Iyonix, but has since been ported to the RiscPC, as well as a variety of other devices.
Compared to other versions of RISC OS which run in 26-bit mode, RISC OS 5 runs exclusively in 32-bit mode. This is done in order to support newer ARM processors that don't support 26-bit mode, in addition to offering improved memory management. However, this means that many older applications and device drivers are incompatible with RISC OS 5, and require updated versions in order to work.
